Bulgari's seahorse-shaped private island in Jumeirah Bay — 101 keys including 20 villas, a 50-berth marina, and Niko Romito's first Middle East kitchen.

What works

  • Private island access via dedicated causeway
  • Niko Romito kitchen — strongest Italian in the Middle East
  • 50-berth marina with destination beach club

Watch-outs

  • Causeway-only access means taxi dependence
  • Marina beach club brings non-guest day traffic in season

Bulgari Resort Dubai occupies a seahorse-shaped private island in Jumeirah Bay — the island is artificial, completed in 2017 by Meraas Holdings and connected to mainland Jumeira via a single 300-metre causeway. The address sits 20 minutes from DXB and 8 minutes from the Downtown Dubai Burj Khalifa precinct in off-peak traffic, with the Burj Al Arab visible across the water to the south-west. Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel designed the master plan and all the buildings, the same studio responsible for every Bulgari Hotel; the seahorse outline is the architectural conceit and reads clearly from the air.

The 101 keys split between 81 rooms and 20 villas across a low-rise hotel building and a freestanding villa neighbourhood on the seahorse's tail. Rooms refurbished in the 2023 programme use the standard Bulgari oak-bronze-travertine palette; every category above the entry Superior Sea View has a wraparound terrace with sun-bed and outdoor dining setup. The 20 villas each include a private pool, a separate butler entrance from the rear lane, and a direct path to the marina beach club. Villa 8 and Villa 12 are the booking-discipline picks for full west-facing sunset alignment across the marina.

Il Ristorante by Niko Romito is the property's signature kitchen — the chef's first Middle East restaurant and the strongest Italian in the region by the standard Michelin and 50 Best benchmarks. Hōseki by Daisuke Saito is the five-seat Edomae sushi counter (the chef trained under Takashi Saito at Tokyo's Sushi Saito) and the only omakase in Dubai running at the Tokyo three-Michelin-star template. The Bulgari Yacht Club is the day-membership beach club — open to non-guests via a paid day pass that brings noticeable day traffic to the marina between November and April. The Bulgari Spa runs the brand's standard gold-mosaic pool programme alongside the La Mer treatment line.

Bulgari Hotels sits inside Marriott's Luxury Collection portfolio since the 2018 Bulgari Group acquisition; Bonvoy Cat 8 award redemptions land at 100,000 points per night with the fifth-night-free benefit. Ambassador tier (100 nights/year or $20,000 annual spend on the Brilliant Card) unlocks confirmed suite upgrades and a 16:00 late check-out. The structural low season is June through August (Dubai summer, 42°C+); the cool-and-dry October through April peak runs 60 percent above the shoulder, with Christmas to New Year week priced 80 percent above the standard peak. Request a Premium Sea View Suite on the marina side for the unobstructed Burj Al Arab sightline at sunset.

Frequently asked

Bulgari Resort Dubai or One&Only The Palm?

One&Only for the beachfront and the more family-friendly setup. Bulgari for the destination kitchens and the design-led aesthetic. Bulgari runs roughly 30% above One&Only at comparable peak categories.

How does causeway access work?

Jumeirah Bay Island is connected to mainland Jumeira via a dedicated 300 m causeway. Hotel and beach-club traffic uses the same causeway; taxis drop directly at the lobby. No public transit on the island; nearest metro is World Trade Centre 12 minutes by taxi.

Is Hōseki worth booking?

Yes — the 5-seat sushi counter under Daisuke Saito (formerly of Sushi Saito Tokyo) is the only Edomae omakase in Dubai operating at the Tokyo-grade standard. Two seatings nightly, books out 6+ weeks ahead.
