Four Seasons' 2020 Bangkok flagship on the Chao Phraya — Jean-Michel Gathy interiors, three-tiered riverfront pools, Asia's 50 Best #14 bar, and the first Michelin-starred Cantonese kitchen in any Bangkok hotel.

What works

  • Three cascading riverfront pools are the design signature of Bangkok hotel hardware
  • BKK Social Club ranked #14 in Asia's 50 Best Bars (2024)
  • Yu Ting Yuan: first Michelin-starred Cantonese in a Bangkok hotel

Watch-outs

  • 299 rooms is larger than the Capella next door (101 rooms) — service ratio reads lower
  • Charoenkrung corridor is a 15-minute river taxi or 30-minute BTS connection from Sukhumvit

The Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River opened in December 2020 on a 9-acre riverfront site on Charoenkrung Road, sharing the property's pier and ground-floor public spaces with the neighbouring Capella Bangkok (both developed by Country Group under the integrated Chao Phraya Estate masterplan). Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston Architects designed the property as a stepped wedge towards the river, with the three-tiered cascading pool deck on the lower floors functioning as the visual signature — the lower pool sits at promenade level and the upper terrace is the city's most-photographed riverside hotel space.

The F&B programme is the strongest single differentiator: BKK Social Club, the ground-floor bar run by Philip Bischoff (formerly Manhattan at Regent Singapore), ranked #14 in Asia's 50 Best Bars in 2024 and is the city's strongest international hotel-bar booking. Yu Ting Yuan on the second floor opened with one Michelin star within twelve months and remains the only Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant inside a Bangkok hotel. Book the Premier River-View category and above — the entry-level Deluxe rooms on the Charoenkrung side face the road and do not deliver the property's design promise. Use Four Seasons Preferred Partner or Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts for breakfast, a $100 property credit, and 16:00 late check-out at the same nightly rate as direct.

Frequently asked

Four Seasons Bangkok or Capella Bangkok?

Four Seasons for the larger pool deck and the destination bar (BKK Social Club); Capella for the smaller-property service ratio and the more architecturally distinctive 30-storey tower next door. Identical river address, different propositions.

How does the hotel boat connect to BTS?

Hotel runs a private long-tail every 30 minutes from the property's pier to Sathorn BTS (Saphan Taksin station), about 8 minutes one-way. Use for evening Sukhumvit dinners — taxi return at night is faster than the boat schedule.
