Cathay's late-2024 retrofit cabin — a true reverse herringbone with sliding door, wireless charging, and a redesigned soft product that finally matches the hard-product upgrade.
Aria Suite is Cathay's late-2024 retrofit cabin and the rollout is meaningful — the entire A350-1000 sub-fleet ships with Aria from delivery, and roughly half of the 777-300ER fleet is now retrofit-complete. The remaining 777s still fly the previous Cirrus reverse herringbone, which is a competent product but lacks the door and the wireless charging upgrades. Routes most reliably operating Aria-spec frames in 2026: Hong Kong to London Heathrow on the daily A350-1000 rotation, Hong Kong to San Francisco and Los Angeles on the new A350-1000 deployments, and Hong Kong to Paris Charles de Gaulle. JFK and Newark routes still mix frames.
Hardware sits at 78-inch flat bed and a 23-inch seat width, which is one inch narrower than Singapore's 2024 cabin and a touch tighter than Q-Suite. The trade is in storage and finish: the Aria suite has a wireless charging dock at desk level, a covered console for personal items, and a noticeably better leather treatment on the seat shell than the prior Cirrus product. The sliding door is shoulder-height, not full ceiling, but the privacy gain is structural enough that the cabin feels like a private pod during meal service. Centre-pair seats on rows 18D and 18G drop the divider for couples.
Soft product moved forward in tandem with the hardware refresh. The Bamford and Plunge amenity kits rotate seasonally; the bedding programme now includes a Bamford mattress topper and a full down-fill duvet on every long-haul sector; pyjamas are provided on all overnight flights and reliably available in extended size runs. The dine-on-demand programme runs four courses with a Cantonese roast meats service that remains the cabin's most-requested signature, and the Hong Kong wonton noodles are available as an off-menu request that crew honour without push-back. Wi-Fi at $20 unlimited long-haul streams reliably on Pacific sectors.
On points, Asia Miles at 85,000 one-way Hong Kong to Europe is the cleanest direct redemption — transfers from American Express Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou, Capital One, and Bilt all run at 1:1 with frequent 20 percent transfer bonuses. Alaska Mileage Plan at 50,000 one-way Hong Kong to the US west coast remains the genre's outlier sweet spot for Aria Suite, with one stopover allowed on a one-way ticket. Cathay releases two business award seats per flight 360 days out, with a reliable second wave landing 14 days before departure as the airline trues up unsold inventory.

Frequently asked
How do I confirm Aria Suite vs. older Cirrus seat?
After booking, check the seat map on cathaypacific.com — Aria has a 1-2-1 staggered layout with sliding doors visible. Cirrus is 1-2-1 reverse herringbone without a door. Most A350-1000s and roughly half of 777-300ERs are Aria-spec by mid-2026.
Best Asia Miles redemption sweet spot?
HKG–Europe at 85,000 miles one-way (Standard Award). Asia Miles releases two business-class seats per flight 360 days out; the second wave opens 14 days before departure.
Cathay The Pier or The Wing on a long layover?
The Pier — quieter, the Day Suites and Cabanas open at 5:30am, and the noodle bar runs through to gate-close. The Wing is closer to North Satellite gates if you're tight on time.
