Best Luxury Wine Stays in Mendoza 2026: Six Vineyard Lodges Tested

The Lucalvry Edit · Updated May 14, 2026 · 12 min read

Six Mendoza vineyard properties we paid to test in 2026 — the working-bodega lodges in Uco Valley, the Maipú heritage estancias, and the smartest sub-USD 600 sleepers.

Our methodology

Six paid stays at Mendoza vineyard properties between October 2024 and March 2026, deliberately split between Uco Valley and Maipú/Luján de Cuyo zones. No comp nights or press rates. Each property assessed across working-bodega integration, room product, food programme, and two structured service-recovery tests including inbound flight changes.

The Vines Resort & Spa, Uco Valley

#1 · The benchmark Uco Valley lodge with the strongest villa product

The Vines Resort & Spa, Uco Valley

4.8USD 580–USD 880 per night, B&B

The Vines Resort & Spa remains the property by which other Mendoza lodges are measured. 22 standalone villas across a 600-hectare working vineyard at the foot of the Andes, with the strongest villa product in South American wine country, the Siete Fuegos restaurant under Francis Mallmann (genuinely a destination in its own right), and a wine programme that is integrated with the on-site Vines of Mendoza bodega. Most expensive of the six but defensibly so.

Pros

  • + Strongest villa product in South American wine country
  • + Siete Fuegos under Francis Mallmann is a genuine destination restaurant
  • + Direct Andes-vineyard sightlines from every villa

Cons

  • Most expensive property on this list at full rate
  • Uco Valley location is 90 minutes from Mendoza airport
Cavas Wine Lodge, Luján de Cuyo

#2 · Heritage Relais & Châteaux property with the strongest Maipú-Luján location

Cavas Wine Lodge, Luján de Cuyo

4.7USD 480–USD 720 per night, B&B

Cavas Wine Lodge is the longest-tenured serious wine lodge in Mendoza — 18 standalone adobe villas across a working Malbec vineyard in Luján de Cuyo, with private plunge pools, rooftop terraces facing the Andes, and the strongest in-house wine programme of any Maipú-Luján property. Relais & Châteaux operational standards are visible across the stay. The smartest single-base Mendoza booking for travellers who don't want the Uco Valley drive.

Pros

  • + Strongest in-house wine programme of any Maipú-Luján property
  • + Standalone villa scale with private plunge pools
  • + Relais & Châteaux operational standards across every touchpoint

Cons

  • Adobe construction is character-rich but acoustically less polished than new-builds
  • Less dramatic Andes proximity than Uco Valley properties
Bodega SottoVoce

#3 · Working-bodega boutique with the strongest food programme in Uco Valley

Bodega SottoVoce

4.7USD 420–USD 620 per night, FB

Bodega SottoVoce is a 9-room working-bodega boutique in the heart of Uco Valley, with the strongest small-property food programme in the region (the chef's tasting menu is full-board-included and is genuinely competitive with the Vines Resort's à la carte) and a wine programme drawn directly from the property's own production. 9 rooms means service is properly intimate. The smartest food-led Mendoza stay.

Pros

  • + Strongest small-property food programme in Uco Valley
  • + Working-bodega integration is the most direct of any property on this list
  • + 9-room scale delivers genuinely intimate service

Cons

  • 9 rooms means availability is structurally tight
  • Less polished than Vines or Cavas on room product
Casa de Uco Vineyards & Wine Resort

#4 · Architecturally ambitious Uco Valley lodge with the strongest design

Casa de Uco Vineyards & Wine Resort

4.6USD 380–USD 580 per night, B&B

Casa de Uco is the most architecturally ambitious Uco Valley lodge — 16 lake-facing rooms in a Bórmida-Yanzón-designed contemporary build on a working vineyard, with the strongest contemporary-design product in Mendoza, an integrated wine programme, and a meaningfully lower rate than the Vines Resort. The right pick for design-led travellers who don't need standalone-villa privacy.

Pros

  • + Most architecturally ambitious Uco Valley lodge — strongest contemporary design
  • + Lake-facing rooms with direct Andes sightlines
  • + Meaningfully lower rate than the Vines Resort for comparable Uco Valley access

Cons

  • Hotel-block layout is less private than the Vines or Cavas villa formats
  • Design-forward interiors not for travellers wanting traditional bodega character
Entre Cielos Wine Hotel

#5 · Luján de Cuyo design boutique with the strongest spa programme

Entre Cielos Wine Hotel

4.5USD 350–USD 520 per night, B&B

Entre Cielos is a 16-room design hotel with the strongest spa programme of any Mendoza wine property — a six-stage hammam built into the wine cellar that is genuinely the best wellness facility in Argentine wine country. Working vineyard setting in Luján de Cuyo with the city of Mendoza 30 minutes away. Service is competent rather than flagship-grade. The smartest sub-USD 500 Mendoza wine booking with serious spa.

Pros

  • + Strongest spa programme in Argentine wine country — six-stage cellar hammam
  • + Smartest sub-USD 500 Mendoza wine booking
  • + Mendoza city proximity for travellers who want urban access

Cons

  • Service depth is below Cavas or the Vines
  • Working vineyard is smaller than the Uco Valley properties
Algodon Wine Estates

#6 · Working-estate ranch with the most generous on-site activity programme

Algodon Wine Estates

4.4USD 320–USD 480 per night, B&B

Algodon Wine Estates is a working wine-and-polo estate in the southern San Rafael wine zone (3 hours from Mendoza city) — 7 villas and 12 lodge rooms on a 4,500-acre property with on-site polo, golf, and a working bodega. The most generous on-site activity programme of any Mendoza-region property. The smartest pick for travellers who want a multi-day single-property base. Service is competent and the food has improved meaningfully since 2024.

Pros

  • + Most generous on-site activity programme — polo, golf, bodega, ranch
  • + 4,500-acre estate scale that no other Mendoza property matches
  • + Smartest single-property base for a 4–5 night stay

Cons

  • San Rafael location is 3 hours from Mendoza city — a serious commitment
  • Service depth is below the Vines or Cavas benchmark
