The 2017-redesigned Emirates First Suite — fully enclosed with floor-to-ceiling doors, on-board shower spa, and the most photographed cabin in commercial service.

The 2017-redesigned Emirates First Suite ships on a subset of the A380 fleet — registrations A6-EUV onward run the new product, and Dubai to London Heathrow, Sydney, and Brussels are the most reliable rotations for the upgraded suite. Older A380 frames continue to fly the 2008 first-class product, which is an excellent open suite but lacks the floor-to-ceiling doors, the virtual window centre seats, and the reworked shower spa programme. Confirm the registration after booking via ExpertFlyer; Emirates does swap frames within the A380 fleet, and the difference between the two first products is materially bigger than between any two business cabins in service.

The hardware is theatrical in a way that no peer product matches. Each suite occupies roughly 40 square feet with a separate seat and bed footprint, floor-to-ceiling doors that lock from inside, and a personal mini-bar with a Voya skincare drawer. The two centre-pair suites in row 2 use exterior cameras to project a real-time 'virtual window' onto the inside walls, which sounds gimmicky but reads as a genuine engineering solution to the problem of inside-aisle suites. The shower spa is a real five-minute hot-water allocation with two units serving the 14-suite cabin; crew block 30-minute slots at boarding.

Soft product leans on the Bowmore caviar service paired with Dom Pérignon 2013 (or Vintage 2008 on routes where the 2013 has sold through), a seven-course dine-on-demand menu running the full duration of long-haul sectors, and a Byredo amenity kit for men or Voya for women that includes the only full-size pyjama programme in commercial first class. Bedding is Bulgari with a full mattress pad and a thick duvet; the bed itself is a separate flat surface that crew make up while the passenger uses the lounge or shower spa. Wi-Fi is complimentary and unlimited across the entire sector for first-class passengers.

The Emirates Skywards Saver chart at 136,000 miles one-way Dubai to Europe is the headline rate and remains the premium-cabin gateway for American Express Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou, Capital One, Bilt, and Marriott Bonvoy holders — all five programmes transfer to Skywards at 1:1 (Marriott runs 3:1 with a 5,000-mile bonus per 60,000 transferred). Alaska Mileage Plan at 180,000 one-way charges no fuel surcharge and allows one stopover, which makes the all-in cost lower than Skywards on Dubai to US routings. JAL Mileage Bank at 165,000 is the third workable route and the only one that prices Sydney sectors competitively.

Frequently asked

How do I confirm I'm getting the 2017 First Suite vs. the older product?

Check the seat map after booking — the new suite shows fully-enclosed cubes with a 1-1-1 layout including 'inside' suites with virtual windows. The pre-2017 product is open-top with sliding doors only at shoulder height. EK432/EK433 (DXB–SYD) and most DXB–LHR rotations are 2017-spec.

Is the on-board shower really a full shower?

Yes — 5-minute hot water allocation per shower, two shower spas serving the 14 first-class suites, towels and Voya products provided. Crew block 30-minute slots; book your slot at boarding.

Cheapest way to book Emirates First Suite with points?

Skywards Saver at 136,000 miles one-way DXB–Europe via Amex MR transfer (regular bonuses lift it to 1:1.25). Alaska is cheaper in absolute miles for DXB–US but harder to find space.
